Just got back from Japan, but I already have a tournament next week!
Next weeks tournament is called the “Australian PGA championship”, one of the biggest tournaments of the year on the Australian tour.
Many worldwide famous pros, such as Rickie Fowler and Adam Scott come to play in this big event.
I am happy to be able to experience playing in such a strong field.
This tournament is also played in my home town, so I feel very relaxed!
Today for my lesson with my coach,
I went on course to do some mental training.
Swing is looking really good at the moment but in December, during the off season, I will be making major swing changes.
Had a lesson with my coach today!
However, we didn’t do much swing work and did spent time mostly on the mental side of the game, where I need to improve.
He gave me drills to use on the range and course to keep me focused purely on my golf, not score.
It is close to 30 degrees in Australia now!
The soft serve I bought after practice at McDonald’s was so good!
It only cost 30 cents! How good is that!!
Tokai Classic has finished today.
I unfortunately was not able to make it into the final two days, however, this experience gave me confidence and also a big homework to work on to prepare for my next upcoming tournaments! Playing this tournament, I learnt that my long game distances should be my least of concerns, as I have increased it enough to be able to play on tour.
The biggest lesson I have learnt from this tournament is to control my mental side of the game.
On the first day, I started off great, but lost my momentum when I double bogeyed the 18th (IN start).
I wasn’t mentally strong enough to control my mind, which had lead to miss shot after miss shot.
If I had managed to stay strong mentally, I would have definitely been able to at least minimize 3 shots.
This had been a great lesson to me, and I will not do the same thing again.
After the tournament, I went to the Nagoya Castle! It was absolutely amazing, packed with so much history and tradition.
What I couldn’t believe was how people back in the day were able to build those giant rock walls!
It was another great experience and I feel like I know a lot more history of Japan!!!
Today, I found out that my locker for the Tokai Classic is right next to Mr Imada Ryuji’s!
So happy to get a locker next to a top Japanese player!
Tokai Classic starts in two days!
