Last year I remember posting about having a homegrown pineapple… well this year we have 2!
They are only still baby sized, but it won’t be long until it’s edible if this hot weather keeps up!
A while back I posted about eating the South African snack “biltong” and how good it is.
Today a friend showed me how they make biltong and it was really interesting!
They use a special type of beef, hang it like a coat inside a massive dryer (for biltong?) for about a week!
Once it is done, the meat becomes very hard so they use a slicer to cut it up!
The amazing thing about this food is not only the fact that it tastes good and has no preservatives, but it doesn’t mould as long as you keep it in a paper bag that absorbs the moisture!
I am not sure if they have this in Japan but it is getting bigger in Australia. Definitely worth a try if you have the chance!
Today was the final of the QLD Open.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t play well on the second day and missed the cut.
My putting was great throughout the week, however, my iron play was very poor and I struggled to hit greens in regulation, leading to many easy bogeys.
I am back at home practicing hard to get my long game back in control, preparing for the NSW Open in a couple of weeks time!!
Today I will be going to Brisbane golf club for a practice round to prepare for the QLD Open starting there this Thursday.
Recently it’s been really windy so I’ll be relying a lot on my stinger shots.
Although the course is only about an hour away, I will be staying with a friend who lives near the course so I can avoid the early rush hour traffic!
Yesterday I played a round with Mr Peter Senior to prepare for next weeks QLD Open.
As always, he was very consistent with his long game and had a strong short game.
Although he only plays in Australia now, his game hasn’t rusted off one bit!
It’s great to constantly see what kind of game you need to have in order to play well overseas!
I will be playing with him again this coming Sunday which I’m really looking forward for!!
